  • Collision with other vehicles/equipment

 

Do

  • Maintain three points of contacts when accessing the rail carriages via the ladders.

  • Stand clear of the storage wells when IFLT operator is placing cargo on the rail carriage.

  • Ensure that there are fall arrest bags placed on the rear side of carriages that have personnel on them.

  • Ensure that there are two personnel in attendance when opening or closing the carriage access covers.

  • All personnel are to be at least 2m away from any moving carriages or locomotives.

  • Remove all kickers from the area surrounding the coils prior to removal of tarpaulin.

  • Clear any debris from the working area.

Do Not

Attempt to load the carriages without the express permission and presence of the rail load supervisor (DB rail).

Operate any plant equipment that you do not hold a valid certificate of competency for.

Jump from elevated positions on the rail carriages.

Specific Training Requirements:

  • Basic Training - through an accredited training provider training to the standards outlined in the L117 ACOP.

  • Specific job training - tailored to the needs of the organisation.

  • Familiarisation training - Familiarisation training is the third stage of training, which should be carried out on the job, under close supervision, by someone with appropriate knowledge and

experience.
